So, just alerted to this great edition of All Songs Considered, reviewing the best metal albums of 2011. This is why NPR is awesome:

Maybe now my friends will stop being confused when I blast the death and doom. Not likely though. Not that I give a fuck. There is some great music on this list though. Somehow had never listened to Tombs until now. And the new Witch Mountain is pretty sick.
Incidentally, saw Mastodon recently, always one of my favorite metal bands - great show, with Red Fang (love them) and Dillinger Escape Plan (not a favorite, but appreciate their intensity). Had to go by myself because no one I know in town appreciates this stuff. Whatever. It rocked.
Winter is finally here after a pleasantly warm thanksgiving. I'm glad for the change of seasons. Goodbye leaves and welcome sleeping skeletons. I need to forget a lot of summer and fall right now.

I'm down for it, but I'm just saying. I'm onto you.
And yes! I actually read that recently -- that they often work at medical facilities for that very purpose. I thought it was a very interesting crossing of paths between the fields. Or interesting extension and use of th e knowledge of the one.
I'm -wildly- excited for it. Like, .. unendingly, just wildly pumped. I hope to be smartysocks indeed. ^^;
