Went to the Reel Big Fish, Punchline, and Zolof show last night and had an amazing time!
First of Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer is an amazing band that I know will hit it big. Not only do they have a great sound and good stage presence, but thry have a hot lead singer that will be the next punk boy crush (shew would have to bump Agent M for that spot to me
). She is also an SG fan! Talk about awesome. Anyways, I am kicking myself for not picking up the CD and only getting the EP they had out. I will have to get Saida to book them for Mugs and Jugs sometime.
Next up was Punchline. They were just as good as I was hoping, but sadly they didn't play any of hte old songs. Only stuff of the newest CD. I talked to the guys later and found this was because they had a member swap out in February and he isn't up on the old songs yet. Hopefully he will get caught up and I will catch them out here in the Rochester area again.
There was a strange "Punk Hop" band called El Pus there. I have to say they were pretty good, but it really isn't my style music. Basically they were a lot of fun to watch live but I wouldn't listen to the CD.
Lastly there was Reel Big Fish. I have seen them about 9x not and I love the old songs, but I still think that the lead singer is kinda a dick. I know some people who have actaully talked to him for interviews and they all say that he really is. I guess some people are that way even if they have a gift that makes them be in front of people all the time.
Conclusion:
Catch "Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer" if they are playing anywhere near you since they are a great show and the members I talked to seem to be really great people. Also, make sure to catch Punchline if they are playing near you. They are great at getting the crowd moving and if you know all the songs like I do, they are a great "scream along" band.
