This was my beer after an intense night in rural Australia driving home from work last night, being one of the 1st on the scene of a terrible car crash. I think they must have been speeding, the car had flipped several times into a fence. I stayed with a young fella named William & held his hand while we waited for the ambulance to arrive for over 40 minutes. We were literally in the bush amongst all these trees and fallen branches. He had been thrown 10 meters from the car and his girlfriend was trapped in the car still. I thought he was going to die with me last night. When the ambos came I had to help cut his clothes off of him, as they gave him oxygen and were getting ready to lift him onto the board. His girlfriend had to be cut out from the car & she was really hysterical. They had to revive her at one point, but she came back. They were air-lifted out & both were alive when they left. I think he had a collapsed lung and she had a neck injury and a broken arm. They were so lucky to be alive. Fuck I have never had to deal with anything like that before, I've only come across fender-benders. I'm not even first-aid trained, but I will be soon after that experience! I'm so shaken up, I've been trying to find out how they're going, but the hospital won't tell me anything. Luckily my mate is the local police officer in our little town and he's going to get any info he can for me this afternoon. I just want to go and see them, you know? I'd want to know who was with me in a situation like that. I'll let you know what happens hey. Thanks for listening you guys. Life is so precious, be safe out there and travel slow. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
