Been too long since I updated due to a couple of factors. First -- broken keyboard sucks. The whole middle of my keyboard stopped working. It's still covered, but I couldn't do without the computer long enough to get it replaced.
I also just opened the hardest show I've ever worked on. It's also one of the best.
It's called Nerds. It's a brand new musical written by two of the guys who write Robot Chicken. It's a satirical story about Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and the history of personal computing. The upshot is that it's a fantastic show, that could well move on the Broadway. The downside is that my last day off was January 7, the day I flew back from Illinois. I went two weeks straight working from 7 am to 1:30-2:00 am, then back for more.
The show's open, which would normatlly mean at least some relaxed time, even if I'm still working six days a week. However, a principal actress was injured by a pyro effect (another story for another time) and is being replaced, for tonight's show, by a woman who just came off Wicked on Broadway. So, rehearsal all afternoon.
