I have read Tom Flanagan
He is a clever well read political scientist; His points are eloquent and well spoken.
Unfortunately he is incorrect in his free market fundamentalist neo-conservative ideas and if I were inclined to do so I would point out how the political ideas Mr Flanagan espouses are elitist anti labour and are directly responsible for the failing American economy and the inept response to the near destruction of New Orleans. (May I point out that The good Professor is in fact American himself). however I am not here to point out the full follies of Neo-Liberal Chicago school economic belief.
Mr. Flanagan may have committed a crime
I am here to suggest that Mr. Flanagan should be removed from his position at the University of Calgary if he finds himself under investigation by the RCMP. I would hope his superiors at the University of Calgary Board of Governors keep the reputation of their institution in the forefront and ignore Mr. Flanagan's rather well documented political ties.
The signal that would be sent by allowing him to continue teaching would prove the suspicions that many Calgarians and Albertans have regarding the political leanings of the UofC.
If it turns out that he did try to bribe Mr. Cadman I look forward to the disintegration of the "Calgary School" of political thought.
