okay. here's some musical updating.
circadia has been accepted into the XMG International Music Conference!
we've been informed that we were one of, if not the first, to be accepted.
we need your help with this endeavor. in order to play, we've had to agree to buy out 30 tickets for the show. this enables the xmg group to pay for the venue and the expense of the record label attention at this event. it also lets you, the fans, have the chance to see us perform in front of a huge crowd and pay less than everyone else to get in.
it's real simple: we've bought the tickets on the cheap, put on a small markup to recoup the initial entry cost and pay for gas to and from the conference, and are reselling them as of february 28th. tickets from us are $15 each and are good for the whole weeklong event. this includes the final night of performance, sunday, where the top ten bands of the week play at THE HARD ROCK CAFE!
this looks to be a really good time for all and it also has some promise for our band to get some major and independent record label attention.
the catch? there is none. all ticket purchasers will have their names added to the list to be included on the "thank you" section of our upcoming full-length album, which we will be going into the studio sometime this spring. so not only can you go to the sho wwhere circadia got their record deal (we hope!) but you can also be included on the crdiets of an album, record deal or not (we're recording independently regardless of label situation...).
circadia will be playing on saturday, april 1, 2006 at 7pm at the pennyroad pub about 5 minutes from schaumburg and about 45 minutes from chi-town.
go to the circadia myspace or panda productions' myspace for details on the show location and time.
----------------------------
as if that wasn't enough excitement, the ISCARIOT AND BURNING LOVE LETTERS TOUR will be making a stop in burlington to play with circadia and a hill to die upon. how awesome is that?
the show is scheduled for april 29 at the blue shop.
----------------------------
also, burlington's own cavitation will be hositng a cd release party/show this april and circadia has been invited to play. since jesse has a wedding on the original date of the show, i've been told the date has been pushed back to a more convenient one in which we can play. i think that's most rad.
----------------------------
in slightly sadder news, we still have yet to hear back from sexy killer magazine about the sexy killer compilation, volume 7 for which we have already paid to be included. i think the site said something about a summer release so there should be time to hear back.
------------------------------
lastly, i think circadia will be playing in either des moines or cedar rapids this weekend. sunday seems to be the day and we're hoping for the cr show because everyone has to work the next day but we've all agreed that a show is a show so if we can get dsm we will. even though it appears to be a bunch of christian metalcore bands and us.
patrick is looking into both shows and if we play cr, we'll probably try and bring another band to play with us, so if you have a band and would like to play, let us know. we don't know whether it's a punk, rock or metal show yet, so it may come down to the wire before we can say yay or nay on bands.
------------------
so there you have it, a massive update from me, having little or nothing to do with my life outside the band.
sorry to anyone who may or may not have been looking forward to the bmw/shirtsvsskins/secrethandshake show on sunday. the secret handshake's touring drummer quit in the middle of the tour and they had to take 'er back home.
i was really looking forward to it, as were ben and jeremy, and hopefully a similar show can be concocted in the not too distant future.
alright, so i'm done already. please be a kind person and a kickass fan and help circadia out in their time of need. we decimated our band fund to get on sexy killer and patrick has financed the xmg thing on his own so far. helping pay the band back and get a potential record deal would mean so much to us all. see the "XMG Intl. music conference" show date on the circadia myspace for the ways to send us money.
later skaters.
