So I am officially out of my 20s as of last Sunday. 30 ... its an interesting age to be. As a school teacher I have been given several gifts from my students suggesting that I am over the hill. I even went so far as to shave off my beautiful goatee, an magnificent creation that I had been growing for several weeks ( i grow facial hair very fast), to see how different I would look and to see what everyone's reactions would be. It has been an interesting experience. Most of my students have commented on how weird I look and how much younger I look. Apparently with the facial hair i look as though i am Methuselah, without it I look like Doogie Howser. Is this my own personal pre-midlife crisis? I don't know.
For as long as I can remember I have always liked the idea of getting older. I have never been satisfied being what everyone else considered young. Most of my life I have felt as though i was simply an old may stuck in a young kids body, kind of like Corey Feldman in "Dream a Little Dread." I am happy to be out of my 20s, the only thing that continues to frustrate me is that fact that everyone says 30 is the new 20! LOL
Anyway, it feels good to be old again.
Cheers,
Price
