Today's comment: NO COMMENT

I have absolutely nothing to say about what I may or may not be wearing, where I'll be going, who I'll be going with, what I'm listening to besides the voices in my head, how deeply troubled I am about so many "issues" in my life right now, the future of music and mass media, the world and whether while in...

Quite right! Absolutely nothing wrong with nothing! I did enjoy your pictures enough to make me both jealous and anxious... Jealous at never having left the country before - Barcelona was undoubtedly amazing! Anxious for it seems I will be going to Ireland this summer! Arming myself w/ a soon-to-be-purchased digital camera, I can't wait to take hundreds of photos. I'll just have to remember to get in front of the camera for a few of them, as well! biggrin

One more night, and my work week is done! Think I'll spend the day working on sampler experiments, and playing with my little dogs...they seem to be craving attention today.

Went to a wake for a close friend's father on Monday, which was an odd experience because I've been watching the first season of 6 Feet Under on dvd lately. After that, I went out to dinner with a couple of friends who were also at the wake, and we ended up at a semi-deserted drag bar in town, watching the queens belt out (actually,...

Good editing call...and no offense taken. smile I've found that the postings boxes, such as the one I'm writing in now, are great for rambling...not so good for trying to format poetry. I'm also a bit 'proofready' so, no one could ever be more critical than myself. biggrin

To explain my lack of DEVO is easy.
I hate boiling myself down to a string of lists.
though I'm sure if I started to list off stuff I would run into the same out of space problem you ran into.

Productivity, productivity!!! It's all about recording my new album. Mellotron, Marxophone, piano, theremin, stylophone, too many analogue synths, angklungs, and absolutely no guitars. Probably some violin, ukelele and cello. And probably some absinthe and wine. Amazing new unpublished lyrics by brilliant authors. I'm neck deep in this grand folly, and proud of how it's coming along.

I'm seeing certain geodesic qualities in myself...I may look...

I SO need a copy of this album upon completion! Granted, mentioning theremin & mellotron in the same sentence isn't unusual to synth anchronists but, I have, for all intents and purposes, no musician friends. So hearing someone else's wonderful fortune of being able to record with such things makes me happy for them...and bitterly jealous. biggrin

i'm sorry i couldn't call you back, the cell phone had a problem finding a signal, and still can't. i'm thinking it's the weather...

All around me everything is cold. The weather in Reykjavik is better than where I live, and people I know and love treat me with, at best, apathy. What is this? Am I wasting my time?

Maybe it's the insomnia talking, or maybe it's the cause of the insomnia. I'm not being very good about making heads or tails of anything right now, because the...

There's nothing quite like cold to sap energy for moving, energy for doing, forward momentum in trudging through to the next thing... Hope you find yourself the winner of a surprise electric blanket & matching slippers. I'd shoot to see Big Fish first, rather that Return of the King. The latter is great, up for a couple of Oscars which makes it likely to be around for at least another month - Maybe not so w/ Big Fish.

Cryptonomicon has a slow start...first 50-100 pages. After that, it's really remarkable. A possible, better-served introduction to Neal Stephenson is Snowcrash (if you haven't read it already). It's easily 600 pages shorter and is a bogglingly fast read - Crypto took me a month to crack the first time. skull

No sleep last night...the racoons on my roof have returned, even though they were recently trapped and taken far away. They drive my little dogs crazy, and dig up all the bulbs in the flowerpots on my roofdeck for food. At least, I hope it's for food, and not the simple joy of vandalism.

Wouldn't have slept well even without the racoons. There's a lot...

that last poem was something I wrote while I was still in college. It was after a night of drinking god know what, smoking god knows what, and maybe even chewin' on god knows what. and I decided to amuse myself by screwing around with one of those magnetic poetry things stuck to my friend's refridgerator...

The cold...it pierces my bones, so I'm not going outside. This just has to stop. The kitchen water pipes are frozen, and I had to make coffee from the bathtub this morning. There are things I need to be doing...loading up my new sampler with libraries of sound and cleaning up the house a little bit, but this arctic weather has really subdued my motivation. Time...

There was an Associated Press article today I laughed about. Boston has been colder than Juneau, Alaska and Reykjavik, Iceland...but than again, you knew that! Thanks for the book mentions. Yeah, the first two weeks of bookstore employment is spent saying, "What were those dozens of books I always wanted to covet but never got around to..?" biggrin

I saw a video clip on CNN of a woman in Vermont who threw a cup of boiling water into the air, and the stream of water exploded and turned into snow, just by coming into contact with the air. Beautiful, yes, but whenI realize that the same thing could have happened to me if I threw myself into the air (okay, I'd probably have to be in Vermont) it's pretty scary robot skull robot

spent yesterday acting all butch by hauling wood and other manly construction accessories before the snow hit late last night. it was actually loads of fun, and i got to spend the day with my bf, so all is good. today is for errands...going to the post office, which for some reason i hate, and checking out a vintage vocoder i'm going to buy. found...

*Sigh...vintage vocoder* I've never had the chance to check out any Zelazny in my adventures... I used to run a book store & had a number of his titles whisper from across the aisles but something always hollered louder. Any suggestions on a intro to his material? biggrin

another house right behind mine is getting loudly torn down and rebuilt during early morning hours. this is the second one, and as usual, the only victim is my sleep. the coffee helps.
i've decided to do away with the surrealism of my original profile pic. it was too much even for me. good thing nobody saw it, or so i assume. the new one's...

put in a picture...it's all from barcelona. if i actually owned a costume of oranges, i could be selling soda there. so much for surrealism. since i'm new, i don't know if the sexy pics will be posted soon... i'm fearing a lot of tongue and puke posts if i do. time will tell, i'm sure.
there will be more, and more of substance, soon.
gumbercules:
and if you actually see this pic, you're probably thinking "what the fuck?!???!!" it will probably change soon. just felt like wearing virtual fruit for a day or two.
