This is my first time writing in quite a while. I feel like I should write here more often, but... well, I don't know. I have no doubt that, for the women here, SG.com is a fantastic community. As a guy, I just feel like 'yep, I'm here because I like looking at pictures of pretty ladies.' I don't comment on photosets often, unless I'm really struck by someone's beauty, and I try not to be super creepy when I do. It's usually just a heartfelt "Wow, this set is gorgeous, thank you for sharing," things like that. I don't guess it matters. Anyway, the point is I'm just a casual user here. But I felt like writing somewhere other than my private journal. So here we go.
2021 was, for me, and probably for most of us, a lot better than 2020. I personally got through 2020 pretty well, though-- I didn't get sick, I didn't lose anyone close to me, I didn't lose my job, and my favorite artist, Taylor Swift, released two new albums. But still, 2020 was a bunch of staying home, and eating in my car rather than in restaurants. So there was plenty of room for improvement in 2021.
The best part of 2021 was a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my 40th birthday a month late. I've been to Vegas 13 times since I was a kid. I wanted to do something special for my birthday, so I stayed at the Cosmopolitan, which is the nicest, most expensive hotel I've ever stayed at. I got a room with a balcony, which was awesome (it didn't have a view of the Bellagio fountain, because that's even more expensive, but it was still great). I also got more drunk than I've been... maybe ever?... and got laid, so yeah, it was a pretty great birthday celebration.
But man, 2021 was an expensive year. Besides the Vegas trip, I had to buy a new computer, new glasses, a new car battery, and rear brake pads; and I should get four new tires soon too. I'm know I'm really fortunate that my two part-time jobs keep up with my bills, and that I inherited some money when my dad died in 2019. So I'm not complaining about having to spend all that money-- I know there are people who can't afford food/medicine/rent/etc., especially in the last two years.
I figured I should throw that disclaimer in there, because I'm about to say that, as much as I've spent this year, I'd totally find a way to spend more if Taylor Swift were to announce a tour. A ton of artists are starting to put together tours, from The Killers, Adele, and Ed Sheeran to Keith Urban, Brandi Carlile, and Olivia Rodrigo. With so many announcements lining up, I kind of assume that if Taylor doesn't announce something soon, a tour isn't happening until at least late 2022. Since she often does fun things around her birthday (merch sales, the reputation tour movie, evermore last year), I'm hopeful (but not optimistic) that we'll hear something next week. If not a tour, it'd be fantastic if we could at least get a Long Pond Sessions for evermore.
So... that's what's rolling around in my brain right now. As with most blogs, I'm sure this isn't interesting to anyone but me, or someone who knows me. But it's nice to have an outlet to write things down. Thanks, SG.com, for all the amazing pictures, and for giving a person the opportunity to share his thoughts.
