I had family living in Germany for a few years during college, and I'd visit several time a year. The coolest tradition that I picked up from my Deutsch brethren was their X-Mas Eve celebrations. Unlike the American tradition of quitely spending the eve before X-mas at home, the Germans that I met got quite rowdy. Big parties and celebrations that lasted the whole night. Tons of fun to be had. Then, you slept a few hours, and made the rounds to friends and family on X-mas Day. So, I keep the tradition alive as much as I can here in the US. On X-mas eve (last night, I guess) I gathered the lost souls at work and forced them to partake in some good cheer at a local dive bar in Old City. It wasnt as festive as past years, but I still made a few people happy, including myself. And that was no easy task, since this has been THE worst Holiday season for me EVER. More on that later....
Anyway, MERRY FUCKING CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
