Big weekend.
Friday morning MacTalla M'or and their faithful friend and roadie were off to The British Memorial Garden at Hanover Square in NYC for a brief ceremony and concert to celebrate Scotlands Tartan Week. The trip down was miserable; rain (of seemingly biblical proportions) caused poor visability and flooding on many highways. We dropped the band and equipment and headed over to park near South Street Seaport and the skies cleared.
Ilana Ofgang offered memorable renditions of the US, UK and Scottish national anthems, Scotlands First Minister Alex Salmon gave a brief but stirring speech, and the festivities began! A wonderful time was had by all.
We ended the day at Beckett's Bar and Grill on Pearl Street. We sat at an outside table on the beautful cobblestone street but the rains arrived along with our first round of beers, so we headed inside. After eating and drinking everything in sight it was finally time to go home.
Saturday afternoon the band and I were back in Manhattan at Stout NYC for the gala party after the citys Tartan Day Parade. They gave another great show and I, once again, ate everything edible and did my very best to sample all of the wonderful beer that Stout NYC is known for.

Edit: I forgot to mention Sunday. I spent that one hiking with a friend in and around Pootatuck Forest and Squantz Pond over in Connecticut. We started out at noon, and arrived back to the starting point just around dusk.
I'm normally quite the night-owl, but I was tired enough that I dozed off while reading at around 10:00pm on Sunday Night. It's alright - now I'm rested and ready for the next series of adventures!
