I miss the Winter. I am not entirely sure how to categorize the season we are currently having, but I certainly do not consider it Winter. I long for the cold, icy months in which having a warm drink and enaging good conversation are the paramount activities simply because one dares not venture outside (not that I ever squander the opportunity otherwise). Perhaps it's the Russian in my blood that produces this sentiment, but I suspect it is more the fact that I am thus far a life-long New Englander, acclimated to long, brutal winters; somewhat proud of my ability to endure them without complaint.
It is amusing - people who have also lived here their entire lives are complaining about this "cold". It is 40f/4c outside. Usually this time of year, it would be 16f/-9c with at least a foot (30cm) of snow on the ground. I am going out without a coat on, and I see people dressed as if they were embarking upon some sort of arctic sojourn.
My friend is convinced that I am girl crazy, and I am convinced that he is correct. I suppose that a monogamous relationship, lasting for over a quarter of your life, one that you never thought was going to end, ending abruptly will instill some dramatic changes in the way one thinks. In me, it seems to have manifested itself as "girl craziness"... I believe that is the clinical term. I have also discovered that the two traits I find most attractive are intelligence and creativity - sanity a close third. Sanity is only relative anyway.
In other news, yesterday was "free stuff day". I finally managed to fix this Canon Powershot A400 I inherited due to its inability to function, so free digital camera. I also received a 40gig Creative Zen MP3 player for the same reason, though it is only a software problem - at which I scoff! I'll be getting that tomorrow. Finally, I received word that a free guitar is coming my way. This is excellent news - I will be one step closer to starting up my noise project, which will ultimately lead to a one-man black metal project. I am excited.
Tomorrow, I return to Boston. I cannot express how happy this makes me.

And I only like the cold and the rain while indoors, but there's no heating in my new housing arangement, so I am longing for this winter-weather to leave! You can have it, comrade
