Remember when my car's license plates were swapped and i had to go get new ones? Unfortunately, the saga will not die. The person using my stolen (expired) plates got a ticket for having expired plates... for which I just a notice and bill, with a threat to go to collections for non-payment. Apparently, even when you get new plates because yours have been stolen, it doesn't actually mean that the DOL will take you out of the system unless you have a police report, which they specifically DON'T MENTION IN THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. So I have to have a cop come out and tell him what happened. Again.
In other news, i'm more or less off on Friday for a fitful three weeks of "vacation," defined as "going somewhere remote where i'll still have to work, just on my laptop with dial-up, no cellular service, and a distinct lack of supporting materials."
