Finally caught up (kinda) from the trip to Chicago; flying American must be a pretty good approximation of flying in a military transport: no food, no entertainment.

Luckily, Chicago welcomed us with open arms. It was a bit warm for our Northwest constitutions (mid-80s in April?!), but my sister's wedding was beautiful, my sister was beautiful, Piper was beautiful, the heavens opened and angels... okay, maybe not that last part, but it was a great time, and my brother-in-law is an awesome guy, so I'm pretty happy for her.

Unfortunately, I was not able to meet up with the lovely Ophelia and her Kamel, but the multitude of family/wedding obligations took up nearly every waking moment. Janet and I were able to go back and visit some of our old haunts, including the expense-account black hole Pete Millers, where her old boss would use any excuse to take the team out for drinks, steaks, pool and cigars. Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't taste quite as good when it's coming out of your own wallet. Our visit was all too brief, but maybe when we're back this summer, we'll have a more relaxed go of it.
