The weather outside the past day and a half is rather fitting.
The cold wind and all the snow kind of match up to how I've been feeling inside.
I didn't have a horrible day yesterday all and all, but I didn't need the extra stress that some of it caused.
I'm used to snow from growing up in the midwest, but my walk to work was much less enjoyable due to all the sidewalk slush.
I got to work with soggy shoes and socks, so I went part of the day barefoot while they dried out.
My manager called me and said she wasn't coming in "due to the weather". She made it sound like she was totally snowed in or something.
I didn't argue with her even though all the buses and cabs were running just fine and that there wasn't a reason for her to stay home other than she's lazy or possibly was hungover.
It was the day of one of our big sales too, so it was not cool to abandon me with that. At least my sales at the end of the week will be decimating everybody elses.
She also didn't call any of her interviews off, so I had people calling and coming in only to find out that they had to reschedule. So hurray for pissing off potential staff before they even start.
Kharma is a bitch though...some of my managers bosses called the store looking for her and I told them all that she stayed home "due to the weather".
The district manager sounded quite pissed over that fact too.
Does anybody else find that some people are impossible to work with or work under, even when outside of work you totally think this person is cool and hang out with them? I honestly like my boss as a person and we chill at the bar sometimes, but I seriously can't stand working under this woman.

and i seriously can't live without television. i have to always have it on-kind of like white noise. the house has been dead quiet today and it's weirding me out. plus, i was an only child and tv was like my babysitter/playmate, so it's comforting i guess.
how sad is that?
ps: i read back in your journal to catch up-i'm so sorry about your hamster. =/
