So then. Busiest Saturday in a long time is over and it was mostly a success. Started off with a trip to see new baby number one, went on to a delightful homecooked meal (as rare when I'm the chef as it has always been) followed by loosely office-based shenanigans.
My boss has an incredible house. It was an odd sensation... going into a house *owned* by someone not even ten years my senior but who has pretty much every toy imaginable including a house that puts my parent's place (lovely 1950's or so style two story to shame.
I finally did well in a "real" game of poker. I came in second, but I had a lot of fun. I haven't tried betting shapes instead of dollar amounts before: I suggest it. I was mostly betting pyramids at the end (once a Christmas tree). I likely could have won but it was already 10 and so was really about time to actually head over to the wedding reception we were crashing.
That was alright but brief as apparantly it was decided to pick me up for 11:30 and we didn't get there until 11 but I feel our presence was noted. All five of us showed up in our black company logo'd shirts... very classy.
Party afterwords was fun... the birthday boy appeared to be enjoying himself. I at one point had two topless women on my lap which was fun while it lasted... such is life.
Walked home instead of going to Denny's at 2:30 in the morning... just not in the mood to spend more money on low quality food when, for once, I wasn't starving. Could have been because of the steak burgers earlier in the day. After a brief wake-up for a phone call from a drunk friend at 3am that brought to a close the day.
Now if only I could have got back to sleep instead of being doomed to be awake at 8:20 in the morning :S
Edited to add:
In a fit of unbound optimism... go read this awesome comic. Sometimes I forget how awesome sinfest is... then it reminds me.
Life's okay too

I shall have to check out the RATT karaoke experience when the crew rolls into Edmonton in August.
