Holy Mary, Mother of God.
I have been so busy lately, it almost borders on ridiculous. (Almost, but not quite...)
I saw The Decemberists at The Casbah on Friday with Creamsaver, dannyboy, and my personal favorite mr_demille. We also ran into redneck70 with another Mexican Danny. Fun! The show was lovely, lovely, lovely but the best bit had to be the encore of "Ask Me' by The Smiths. The audience all singing along and everyone screaming "ask me, ask me, ask me...' was wonderful.
On Saturday night, accompanied by B, I saw a Brazilian singer by the name of Jorge Ben Jor at the Resurrection Bulding near the ballpark. Outside at night, in a sea of pulsating Brazilian girls wearing tiny slips of fabric that could marginally be called clothes... Suffice to say, I was pleased. The music is a bit of samba and a bit of pop mashed together with a gyrating Carnival dancer thrown in for good measure. I did feel a bit out of place, looking like I'd just come from locking up at the branch library in 1986 but that was easily remedied by a few Cape Cods and 2 packs of cigarettes. Sloshed home after a few pictures of me grinning like an idiot with the mostly nude headressed dancer, and proceeded to ravage B till the wee small hours of the morning. I tell you, get a few drinks in me......
Spent almost all day Sunday in bed with a back and headache. Left for food and to see Farenheight 9/11. Sold out here. Sold out there. Sold out here, as well. Went home. Thought about doing laundry. Went to sleep instead.
I have started a new schedule at work, from 11:30 am to 8pm. It felt like a day off not to have to get up at 6:30 this morning. But working until 8 at night will take some adjusting to. It has already thrown off my eating schedule and I am hoping what little sleep I am able to get these days will not be affected as well.
Bleh. There. A full update!
