Getting fucked over in new and exciting ways.

So somebody at "Big Army" decided that they weren't going to cut us our deployment orders until 30 days before we are mobilized.

Problem is, 30 days before we go Title 10 we are supposed to be on Title 32 and in a completely different state.

So we're completely naked under USERA right now and...

Hurray!

It's moving day, It's moving day!

There's just something about moving into a new place.

I've been out of school for years. So I guess this is about as close to that first day of school that I get these days.

Funny how it also turns out that I tend to move in the Late Summer/Early Fall time frame...

Got home from New Orleans/Baton Rouge/Alexandria/Lake Charles on the last flight of Oregon Guards on Friday.

Once I get the pics on the disposable camera I took developed I'll post them, I wasn't about to take my Digital down there since I wasn't sure where I'd be or what the mission would be when I left home a...

Why is it that the sudden approach of 30 seems to carry some strange significance to me?

Bah, should just get a couple of Vintage Mac's to smoke and work on my bottle of Glenfidich Solara Reserve.

Cigar's and Scotch always make things less painful.

What a way to start off a bad month in Iraq.

Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck.

Things have been getting nastier in that part of Iraq for the last couple of months but from the reports I'm hearing things are as nasty on the new guys as we ( Intel Pukes ) were afraid they could be.

We are now into the third and fourth rotations in...

You're one of the last ones they'd send out right? I mean there's little chance you'll get shipped off to Iraq?

dr_ew:

I know a few guys that came back. They said it was shitty as hell, but they'd go back if they had to.

I love sleeping in with my new work sched. But I still can't get used to getting to sleep in past the sun coming up. Keep thinking that I've overslept my alarms and that I'm running late for work.
dr_ew:

When the sun comes up at my house, thats when I know its time to go to bed.

Finally starting to get back to normal. Always takes a couple of weekends after I get back from the field if I don't get a couple of days rest instead of going right back to work the next day like I did this time.

Funny how easy it is to fall back into the old patterns when I do a stint of active time...

I didn't know Beck was playing in Ptown. How did I miss that frown . This makes me very unhappy. I haven't seen Beck since I was like 16 or 17 years old AND I haven't seen shit for live music this summer which makes me sad frown again.

Are you in the military?

There's just something about getting 4 hours of sleep a night and living in the dirt (not to mention going days between showers) that makes coming back to the "real" world seem sureal.

Sort of like going to listening to 105mm Arty fire while you go to sleep and waking up to 50 Cal.

thank you.
