ok, this is where i proclaim my idiocy to the world.
although, i do have to say that this has been one of the most interesting weekends in quite some time.
ok, so birthday on friday night, big bash at the bar (with justinxl whose birthday it is today) where i consumed far to much redbull and jeger, so much so that i woke up...

the gauntlet has been thrown down, tho it be unknown by my opponent. a duel of wits to the death, for which i am ill equipped. never the less, i shall sally forth wielding the wit i do possess, as a club, to counter my foe's razor sharp rapier. i shall hack and bash like my forefather, the neaderthal, where my adversary slices and pares...

Well, I wasn't quite sure if Justin was coming out of nowhere with the birthday thing so I decided not to be pre-emptive. And I guess I could have looked at your birthdate on your profile... but whatever.
Oh, and besides... it isn't your birthday here yet. Yeah. That makes me feel better.
*mwahahahhaa*
According to Arizona time, you are not yet old(er).
*smiles*
As for the breaking up thing-- some boy who is dumb decided that I am not a worthwhile companion because I won't agree to marry him after dating for a month. (Umm, I'm crazy but not that crazy!)

Okay, I can now officially (according to backward-ass Arizona time) wish you a birthday of happiness, cheese fries and snow shovels.
So yes, happy birthday or somesuch.

I forgot to tell you earlier since I was on edge with the demos. Thought it might put a little steam in your stride.

What in the world are you up to that leads to sleep dep? Don't tell me that you're staying up late trying to solve the problems of the world.
In other news, I had one exam... in my eyes, it has been completely rationalized. For it to be possible to get an A in this class, I had to get a 67 or higher. I'm pretty sure I accomplished that task.
Now I just have to decide if I'm going to be running away for spring break... since part of my fellowship money got dumped into my bank account the other day. If I had planned ahead I would have gone to the Grand Canyon and I'm sure as hell not going to Vegas. I guess driving up and down the Pacific Coast is still an option.

BFC brought together a lot of things I already knew into a cohesive theory of America. I used to think the world was fucked in a chaotic sense. Now I think we're systematically fucked.
Either way, I take a grim pleasure in being alive and getting to watch it all going down, even if I have to go down with it.
Side note: I liked Charleton Heston better when he was Juda Ben-Hur. In chains. Whipped repeatedly. Sweaty.
With horses.

Haha. The weather has been lovely in Iowa, huh? Strange because it is almost always lovely in Tucson... it has been rainy and "cold" (below 60) the past couple of days. Heh. I guess this is to get back at me for last week when it was sunny and 80.

For whatever reason this whole "add friend" feature is beyond me. I added you. You appeared on my list twice. I clicked one to remove you and now you're totally gone. Oh, I hate my life.
yeah, so stuart davis was cool last night, even if i was so exhausted that i nearly fell asleep.
but it was 2 hours of goodness, and i really like the small settings like last night.

Hey, I was just wandering through your pics and I was wondering if all the artsy things were things you had done.
Additionally, Mythbusters is a hella cool TV show.

This shows my archaeological nerd-itude, but one of the things that I think can never be found archaeologically is the individual. Perhaps this concept applies to our present archaeologies? Meaning that, especially in the case of other people, all we can discover are material correlates of their behaviors. We cannot explicitly know motivation or pretense outside our own. And even then... we sometimes bury our desires so deeply that we "don't know" the exact cause of our doing something. I believe it is possible for us to know ourselves... but not others.
freddyg:
i have to agree with your analogy, we can not see the choices made by any individual, past or present, but only the results of those choices. perhaps the only difference is that with people alive today, we may be able to reach a more concrete understanding through deep explanation directly from the individual. but i still believe that we have so many things about ourselves that we dont understand, that in most cases, even the individual in question cannot completely convey the underlying cause of their choices.
i do agree that at some point (different for everyone) we should be able to reach an understanding of ourselves. part of the problem is that i think that it is just recently (in the human evolution) that people have really wanted to understand themselves, and we dont know how to figure that out yet (as a population)
to break it down, i agree with everything you said. its a matter of degree, i think i have less faith in the knowing of oneself, than you do.

that would be my friend justin, if the bitch ever starts a journal, stop by and say hi to him

Morgan = totally rockin hot.

If you attempted that line on me, I would probably go back to my friends and tell them what a tool you were... unless, of course, I were totally trashed. In such a case I would likely giggle and walk away.

PS-- I'm originally from very (very!) rural Delaware. This kind of situation is a commonplace occurrence. We're all a bunch of hicks and rednecks afterall. Being from Iowa, I'm sure you understand.
*edit* I added some pictures of funness today, just in case you're curious.
