I grew up watching boxing. My father loved boxing. Every afternoon he'd fall asleep watching boxing while watching me. My mother thought it was too violent which made it all the more appealing.
We also grew up in a house with lots of classic WWF/Stampede Wrestling. I loved it, especially in the early days with the female Japanese-style wrestler. I eventually grew out of the wrestling, but not out of the spectacle.
I think that's why I've always been a fan of combat sports. It's why I love martial arts, but hate martial art films, and it's why I find two men beating each other up entertaining.
Whenever I feel filthy and awful, I've found drinking a gallon of orange juice and then immeditaly swilling mouthwash in the shower makes me feel better for entire minutes. I hope you find a solution that works for you.
