here i am in san francisco-- count down 3 days till my sister gets married to that dude with the control issues and work ethic from mount vesuvius or some other hellish location...
my dad is actually enrolled in sf state at this moment... unusual perhaps because he's 65 but he doesn't let that phaze him. it's so funny, he's in one economics class and wants to audit a few other business classes. what he wants is to refresh everything he knows about business... it was hilarious, yesterday he was telling me the most profound thing he's learned so far; that some people work their whole lives for money, and other people, when they get money, make it work for *them*. and then he started talking about people who know so much about money they're able to get 16% return or whatever that means... i'm such a novice at the subject i wouldn't even be able to tell ya what he talked about... i just think it's hilarious to hear him talkin about "almost legal" stuff like that... you have your kicks, Dad
yeah, he's 65 and in a lot better shape than most folks his age... one thing it seems i've been lucky on is both my parents seem to have been ageing super well and are in great condition for being in their 60's. at least, i can hope that this means i've got the longevity genes or something similarly cool to have... that would rock if i could still hope to do advanced econ classes in my mid 60's... even if what i took out of them was a justification for a post-mid-life yen for causing chaos in my favor lol
man, the air is so fucking CLEAN!!!! damn...
my extended fam is going to be accumulating gradually over the course of the week-- my father's sister, who has the same name as me, will be appearing today... now she's a trip... she's got the most old-fashioned concepts in the universe, and makes comments like "Kathleen ought to live in a city where she can find a rich husband" and she's not joking. neither my dad nor me could think up a response clever enough on the spot for that one...
this is the first september that i haven't been a student returning to school since i was 5!!!!! now THAT was my massive trip of yesterday.. dad's too, but i think i was wierded out by that alot more...

I'm starting the second semester of my school on Monday. It's been many many years since I've been to school so it's kinda strange for me, but it's Photography school so it's much more fun (no general ed classes!)
