*sighs*
Got off work, and went to Christmas's aftermath at my father's house. Got my gifts and ate leftover Christmas dinner... but it felt so WRONG for me to be eating after everyone else and opening gifts after everybody had gone. I ended up going home fighting some very lonely tears. For all that my family and I don't get along, we're family. And this was just awful. And I get to repeat it again in a couple weeks as work's preventing me from seeing my sister Denise who's coming in from Houston for a delayed Christmas. Damn it all.
Anyways, I got a card with fifty bucks, a mug with shaving cream and a candy cane, a rather horrid and amusing scarf from my grandparents (which I still think is the shit), and a Christian music CD that's... ok. Not great, but ok. I should be glad for what I got, and I think I would be more so had I been with the family when it all went down.
Shitty, shitty, shitty holidays, always yanking my emotional chain. But a good deal of it was salvaged by some good confidence-building dreams and a rescue by my best friend Tiffany. She's my true family in a lot of respects. Also learned I'll be taking over management of one of our game stores. Good news at bad timing, with it killing my holiday.
Hope it went better for everyone else. Me, I don't plan on missing out on getting smashed out of my oversized gourd on New Years.

But don't let it bum you out too much. There is always a brighter side to life. And I'm sure you will find yourself basking in the light of goodness and happiness soon. You should grab a few close friends and take a trip to the snow. Start your very own holiday tradition. That way there will be something else to look forward to when it seems that all of the holiday drama is holding you down. Big happy holiday hugs to you!

Y'know, I don't want to lecture but in this life you've got to learn to take happiness where it comes. So enjoy what you have and I'm sorry if it bugs you (hug)
