So, my father gave the hammering about what I'm going to do with my life today. I want to be an English major, he wants me to continue with my Computer Science route.
The question is, I suppose, should I stay miserable and mediocre at CS when I can be happy and upper tier at English? Writing is my thing, even though I'm sure I appear semi-literate on this journal whathaveyou, I'm actually more or less kinda smart. And a good writer. Or something. Dammit.
What do you do when the person who most supports you wants you to ignore what feels right and stick with what is nigh to torture?
I wish anything had an easy answer to it anymore.
Also of note, I'm a little ashamed to live in Kentucky, now. 3 to 1 in favor of the gay marriage amendment? That's beyond my scope of imagination, folks. Rational thought would imply that gay people are NOT so much of a threat that we need to ammend the constitution so that they cannot get married. I can't imagine marriage as a less sacred institution than it already has become. There are fucking drive through marriages in Vegas and I'm supposed to believe that there's only one combination of the two genders that should be allowed marriage? If I can get married as easily as I can get a fucking hamburger, maybe we should just relax about the whole fucking thing and move on with our lives as a whole. Let them get married. They're aren't hurting you, and most of them aren't hurting anyone else.
Fucking conservatives.

The shit they have to put up with on a normal day just shows how small minded people are.
About the school thing, there is always the double major thing...I really think that you need to follow your heart. Being unhappy later on because you took the choice that someone else wanted you to take will drive you insane. Hey Justin, just look at me...
I know it really doesn't count for much, i'm not paying for anything but you have my support. If you ever need someone to talk with you know how to reach me.
Later...off to BME
