Right, new post, nearly new year.........amount of care? Running dangerously low.
After such a positive year in nearly all aspects, I've hit a bit of a low point about 2 weeks before christmas, and have so far, utterly failed to do much about it, so it's kind of colouring my feelings about 07. I have, however, done a lot of sleeping, which is good, very good, and not nearly as much drinking, which is also pretty good. I've got no great plan for tonights festivities, but that may not be a bad thing. Can't be disappointed by nothing.
I've also been totally hooked on the books of Alastair Reynolds, science fiction writer who I've only just been put onto, and his revelation space series, which are fucking ace. Actually going to bed a bit early, just so I can sit there and read before going to sleep. I like.
As I've been boasting to various people, I'm now playing Guitar Hero 3 on Hard, which it most definitely is. Fucking hard in fact. Great fun though, although I think I may have to play something else for a while, just to remind myself that there are other games.
So, christmas itself. Well, same old story, my gran came down, our family's closest family friends came over for x-mas lunch as they always do, and us kids whupped the olds at charades, so no change there then. And we all watched doctor who, so a good day.
What was unexpected was my present. Which was a digital camera! Most happy! Totally not expecting it at all, really lovely 7.1 megapixel Canon camera, so 2008 is going to be snap happy. Well, it will be as soon as I get a memory card that can hold more than 10 bloody photos that is. Honestly, 32Mb card, what's the point eh?
Also, went to see War Of the Worlds, Jeff Waynes Musical version, which was my sisters present to me, and then on the 28th, went to see War Horse, which was another present from my folks, and I have to say it was amazing. Some huge puppets along with actors, all about a boy, his horse and the first world war, really moving and completely captivating. I'd like to see more puppet shows, done well they are just magical.
Right, I've got to go, about to go off to the gym. Oh yes, 2008 is going to see even bigger and better improvements in the health of Dan, running, swimming, boxing and dancing. You'll all be invited to the end of year Gun Show
Hope 07 was good, and may 2008 bring many good things for you all, like new jobs, happy relationships, warms summers and another title for United
Dx
Edit: Just been for a good 2 hour workout, and feeling much happier about everything. Except that 2 weeks off from the gym and all that beer and pie have made me a little fatter than I would have liked, oh well Got a whole year of gym to sort that out.
I can be a bit of a moany whinge bag at times it appears, so 2008 will have less of that, and at least 33% more positive. Targets for this year, do more work on kick ass films (fairly enevitable), get super fit, well, fit (also fairly likely), drink less booze (fairly necessary), try to get lovely lady friend/potential future Mrs Firemonkey (fingers crossed on this one, prepared to take my time to find the right one, this does mean I actually have to go out and start doing things though. Again, no bad thing).
Bring it on!
Double Edit: Dammit! I nearly forgot to mention that this was my first year on SG and what a delight it has been, met a whole bunch of you, from which I've made some proper good friends, and even from those who I've only had the pleasure of meeting online, you all seem a rather wonderful bunch, especially surprising as I only signed up because I was drunk and wanted to look at gorgeous naked girls with tats and piercings. Who'd have thunked it eh?
