A Mental Exercise
To begin imagine the absence of everything as something palatable and real. Concentrate on the absence of light, the absence of dark, the absence of time and space, and finally the absence of thought. Even nothingness is absent. Your mind will intrude and distract this process. Just allow everything that comes to your mind to become the absence of that thing. Eventually the silence will take over. This is the canvas on which we will paint.
Eventually you will notice as though it was there all along
Imagine a spider web. The strands radiate from a central point. That central point is potentiality of you and each strand of the web is a single interaction between the potential of you and that which is not you. Every thought and action is a strand that connects. The strands radiate in all directions of all dimensions. Each strand is a self propagating wave of consciousness. The crest of each wave is what we normally perceive as self even as we sense on a basic level the true self is in the potential. Now we extend this imagery into the fourth dimension; time. Each strand becomes a shifting plane. New strands are added but old ones never disappear, making for an ever increasingly complex matrix. And of course at every point the matrix is connected to an unimaginable number of other matrixes. This is a human and by extension human kind in a representative mathematical model. To me it is indescribably beautiful. Of course I wrote all that at 2 am last night.
