So much like when I was meant to do my homework in school... I haven't been doing my homework (Go figure)
However, weekly homework here is much more fun than AP calc.
So ...moving on from my horrible memories of high school (please) I'm going to talk about my favorite recipe, which at first I thought... JEEZ I best have something really cool...because I went to culinary school..but I don't and I am sticking with my favorite comfort food!
...FRENCH TOAST...
ohm nom nom.
I suppose it holds a lot of nostalgia because my dad made it for me a lot growing up. He worked as a short-order cook through his time in college. SO...all things breakfast were just the best.
I have my own little twist to this sweet morning treat...mainly more sugar... I have a big big big (yes that's three bigs...three!) sweet tooth. Also, pretty much always have the ingredients laying around so I don't need to go get anything for it.. Also I have celiac and this makes gluten free bread taste WAY better!
SO...what do you need?
BREAD (I like really squishy white bread...my dad used sunbeam back in the day...this is comfort French toast. if you want it fancy go away)
CONFECTIONER'S SUGAR
RASPBERRY JAM
NUTELLA (ohhhh yeah!)
HEAVY CREAM
MILK
VANILLA EXTRACT
CINNAMON
NUTMEG
EGGS
MILK
OKIE! So, crack a couple eggs into a bowl, add a splash of milk...whisk!
Now add a few dashes of nutmeg and cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp. of vanilla (guess what? you whisk again!)
Get your pan or griddle nice and hot, I cook this in butter. OHM NOM
Dunk you bread in your magical egg mixture and place on hot pan until the sides are both golden brown.
heavy cream plus whisk (need some unsweetened whip cream to balance and because it is yummy)
Top with a dollop of nutella, a spoon of jam and some maple syrup...
Finish with a sprinkle of confectioner's sugar!
ENJOY!
