My call on a projected Uruguay vs. USA game is the only one I had some trouble making. While almost evenly match I gave it to Uruguay as they "just" play a tighter game and have more international experience. The game could go either way but ultimately Brazil will beat either.

As for HST... as I type this lying on my bed, above my head hangs the Rolling Stone magazine from the week he died, resting in a handcrafted frame. I have some affection for the man. Immediately after posting that, I actually went down the street to my (now) local bar, where many, many years ago they held a wake for Dr Thompson months after his death. After downing fourteen or so Wild Turkeys, I approached the open mic & proceeded to tell the audience-- which consisted of yuppies slumming it & broke-ass college kids-- that the Dr would have hated them all, & then went on a lengthy diatribe about how the best way to honor the man's memory was to live up to his questioning & rebellious spirit, not sit in a bar drinking discounted bourbon & glorify substance abuse while listening to jive-ass "free" jazz & watching clips of actors portraying him.

Many drinks were bought for me after I had finished, I was honestly surprised that so many people had such a positive reaction-- including the bandleader whose band I had just called "jive-ass"-- to such a hateful little screed, but I guess I landed it nicely.

Thanks for being the only person in that "Chav" thread who saw that I wasn't talking about the murderers, but the hypocrisy of blaming a whole group for actions of a few (or even a large number). Sometimes people are too quick to leap to the defense of specific sub-groups that they align themselves with, whether it be jocks, or goths or video gamers while casting aspersions on other subgroups, especially when those groups are, like the Chavs or (in the States) "white trash". The whole chav hatred is more than a bit classist and elitist and anti-youth, if you ask me.

Nah. I don't think it makes you crazy. I just really like the color in it and the background has a cool look. I was actually under the impression that it was a painting rather than a photograph. I was wanting to see more of the artist. haha

That's pretty cool. My photoshop skills are not nearly that cool. I've been wanting to learn all the ins and outs of that program. Digital art is really intriguing to me. There was an artist I stayed with in Paris who was used his computer to design a sculpture 3-dimensionally, then using a machine I've only seen used in engineering, he prints it out using resin. The sculpture he made was only an inch cubed. The idea was really interesting though.

Hippies unite. I have a feeling there are more of us on this site than we like to admit. It's kinda weird, when you get some random stoner making no sense, I'll be the first to be like damn hippy. But I there are "hippies" and there are hippies. I consider myself the latter.

As far as the profile thing, I dunno. Some random conversation with Bald_Eagle** made me change my profile pic, then I ended up switching the name to go with it. It'll be temporary for sure, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

**I do have some familiar connections to the family though, so I suppose it's slightly appropriate.

Glad to see that Kita is back, but I'm sure that keeping her inside really isn't up to anyone but her since we all know that what Kita wants Kita gets. I'm glad to hear that you've found a new "special" friend... And I hope that you didn't let the Rav4 sit too long gummy fuel lines aren't an easy or cheap fix I guess we'll have to touch bases sometime later, maybe we can all get together next weekend and do something.
