I thought this was a late April Fools joke when I heard about it. Obviously not!

I've spent my entire career, 33+ years, working in a variety of public affairs, corporate and public relations roles.

In that time, I have been fortunate enough to meet some very high profile politicians, public figures, celebrities and well-known people. I have travelled to and have been to some incredible places. Standing next to the Big Ben bell striking twelve, at the top of Elizabeth...

Today I took the plunge and had my first tattoo.

It took some time to decide on my first ink. But, Sailor Jerry's infamous Aloha Monkey was by far my favourite.

I'm really pleased with the final result. Thanks to Strangy at Avinit Tattoo of Orpington, UK.

My poor attempt at photographing the ink does not do the work justice.

I'm so excited. I've booked a session with my local tattoo studio, Avinit in Orpington, Kent, for Thursday 19th. http://www.avinittattoo.co.uk

Deposit paid and design chosen. A Christmas present to myself.

I will post a picture of the finished tattoo as soon as I can, once it's finished.

Here's the Sailor Jerry tattoo that I'm going to have on my right forearm. It says everything about...

You need to be of a certain age, and to have lived in London during the 1970's and 80's to remember Stanley Green.

I purchased at least one copy of his informative leaflet.

A real British eccentric!

Thought I'd change my profile picture to reflect my latest injury.

The gash above my eye, which should have been stitched, but wasn't, is the result of dropping a steam iron on my head!

Did I swear and cuss? Yes, I did!

Did I blame someone else? Yes, I did!

Did I bleed profusely? Yes, I did!

Am I a Twat? Yes, I am!

lucerne:
How did you drop an iron on your very own head?
fatbobby:
The wire was wrapped around the ironing board. As I tugged the board out of the cupboard the iron fell off the top shelf. Why I'd put it on the top shelf is still one of life's mysteries! I now have a scar. And, the iron is on a lower shelf.... Ha!

I've been wearing DM's for over 35 years. Originally it was "Made in England" cherry red 1460's. Followed by 1461 shoes and also a thinner soled version. Great quality! And, once worn in, incredibly comfortable.

These were followed by several pairs of Dealer Boots and more pairs of both 1460's and 1461's.

Then, several years ago, production moved from Northampton, England to Thailand and China....

I wear 10 hole black steel toe cap 1490's for work.  They're so comfortable despite the extra weight from the cap.
