So, as we saw a few days ago, I was able to do some really nice photos of my cousin Gloria this past weekend as she is preparing herself for her end that might be coming soon (she is suffering from non-treatable cancer and jaundice, so it really is a tossup on which will get her first). I was also able to take out my film camera and photograph her. It was nice to be able to do that since I had not shot in film for a while...but I would like to present to you those photos now, as my final closing and thank you for everything that she has done.
On that note, I just got back from Jetmore, Kansas (about 20 minutes north of the historic "Old West" town of Dodge) about an hour ago. That was fucking crazy. Jetmore is about 830 people in total population, and I spent most of the day yesterday doing photos around the city, including in a supposedly haunted house (that was across the street from where I was staying). It was pretty nice. I hope to get the film developed tomorrow after I go to the gym for a bit and before my exhibition opening.
That is right, tomorrow is the opening for the "We Are All We Have Tonight" exhibition. I am excited and very nervous. This is my first project since I graduated with my MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). It is time to see if everything holds up to the mustard of my degree or not.
