So, on Sunday, yesterday, I had the honor of being able to photograph my cousin Gloria and her family. The thing is that Gloria is in her final days on this earth as she is losing her battle with cancer and has jaundice. No one exactly knows how much time she has left, either a few days to a few weeks, but I was asked to do this shoot on Saturday by my aunt and without giving it a second thought, I said yes. I couldn't say no. So I took my Nikon DSLR out there and my Kowa Six Medium Format camera and did an hour and a half long photo shoot. I feel bad because this photo shoot took so much out of Gloria that as soon as we were done she sat down on the couch and went to sleep, having woke up in her bed just for this shoot. But her daughter Libby said that she didn't hardly have any photos of her and her mother together because she was the one who was always taking the photographs. So I honored them with this gift. Here are the digital photos from Sunday (yesterday). The negatives have been developed and the look good, I just left them at the studio overnight to dry completely before I brought them home, scanned and edited them.
I hope you like these photos as much as I did taking them.
Obviously this next photo I did not take, since I am in it, but I do love it. That is my son Josh, Me, Sam and Gloria (seated).
The black and white film images will come I hope either tomorrow or Thursday evening, as I will not be around my computer on Wednesday as I am traveling out of town for Thanksgiving.
On that note, for those of you who observe Thanksgiving, I wish you all a happy and healthy day.
