So, I have been awake now for about two hours. It has been an amazing time here for the past, 17 hours. The exhibition reception was freaking amazing. I have had SO much positive feedback on the exhibition, it has made everything that I had to go through to show the work worth it.
While here, I had a few firsts for me. First time that I people want to take photos with me in front of my art work, people that I didn't know (friends or family). First time that I have been interviewed by local TV media about my art work (Fox 25 here in OKC, I have only ever been interviewed by written media sources and one radio...THANK YOU BBC RADIO!!!!!) and then some new fans asked me to join them for pizza and beer after the gallery closed down for the day. When I showed up, they had a double shot of tequila waiting for me as a congrats/thank you for the exhibition.
And then from there, I just came back here to the hotel, watched a documentary about Feminism on Netflix and called it an evening. But it has been an amazing time, and I am so happy that I made it down here for it. During my "ask the artist" section, it was packed, I had four or five people around me at any given time, asking questions and listening to responses. It was so much fun.
Here is a photo of me that the curator took during the exhibition that I just love.
But i will show you more photos as they come around. Love you all and hope all is well.
