With ones myopic awareness absorbed in a triage of self and society, the vista of life is clearly occluded!
OR What to do with the flu when you are bored?
If I am really "on the case", as soon as the first signs I am immediately into detox mode. I dose up on echineccea, I drink lots of fruit juice and I got to bed early and I fast. By slowing down a little, I can carry on with my life without missing a step and without taking the chemical contents of sachets of flu 'remedy/relief'.
But sometimes I get caught out. Usually I can blame my diary - a triage of self-importance. I get caught out because I haven't listened to the early warning signs.
"Tell us what the signs are", I hear you shout. Well Ok. since you ask,
The very early signs for me (and many others) are:-
constipation - (I rarely get constipation,)
depression (sharp dip + worse than usual),
tickle in the throat,
The early signs are:-
bit of a dry/sore thoat in the morning
slight cough
bit of a runny nose.
OK so if you spot the early signs and you start the treatment/detox as prescibed (vit C, rest, fluids, echinnecca, detox, fast) you may well find that you can carry on with life without missing a step and without taking the chemical contents of sachets of flu 'remedy/relief'.
But for many years the problem was that I had to catch the "very early" signs. Why? Because I was a smoker, and its hard to tel the early signs from smoking. Even a little constipation was a big event for me, it was a sign! Anyway, I digress...
Overconfidence in my male skillz to "carry on in the face of adversity", usually resulted in mother nature giving me the red card, forcing me have a little time out, and watch life from the sidelines for a while.
How long it takes me to get over the incumbant guilty feelings of 'wasting time', depends on how seriously I am taking my little life at the time. Indeed this usualy has a correlation to how ill I am too!
things are great. I am at ease with my time out. I have a pile of fruit.
Except what the fuck are you meant to do when you feel ill but can't sleep anymore?
Mamon you are good for :--- DVD's ---: I thank and salute you.
This week I have watched
Being John Malchovich
Star Trek Nemesis
Star Trek Insurrection
28 Days Later
Saving Private Ryan
Ice Age
Sin City
Robots
School of Rock
Donnie Darko
Interview with a vampire
With the exception of Donnie Darko, which I have an endless capacity to re-watch, I have never seen the others before.
I have also become a born again fruitarian (with soup for lunch)
Sitting on the sidelines of one life I get a great view. Ok so at the moment the vista is sharp, linear and near, but I know that rolling hills will be a feature again soon.
