I'm fairly fucking excited about this. Countessa's set Secret Garden went into Member Review yesterday. I'm fairly sure I told you all to take the day off work so you wouldn't miss it. I hope you did. I've had so much to do that I'm only just getting to write a proper blog now.
This set was just a little bit daring...being shot in the public gardens of the Australian Parliament House. Luckily, because Canberra has a surplus of parkland, we were the only ones there. Even though it was the middle of the day on a Sunday. For some reason that part of the grounds had no security guards or cameras (though it does have a lot of Ingress portals @twiggy) and the only people who found us there were two startled bushwalkers. Yeah, you can bushwalk that close to our Parliament (I suppose the yankee word for bushwalking is hiking?). Luckily our circle technician @unicorn was there to protect @countessa's modesty!
This really is one of my favourite sets because I can't quite believe we pulled it off. We thought it was a bit of a long shot that we'd get that much time to ourselves in such a public place. But we were in fine form after shooting two sets of @unicorn the day before, so we quickly made it happen! @Countessa is making quite a habit of shooting in freezing locations, but strangely, Canberra in late autumn was not one of them. The weather was perfect, and she looked amazing...so without further ado, here are some of my favourite pics (or feel free to go straight to the set, look at all of the pics, and leaves lots of awesome comments!)
While you're here, you should also go and have a look at @mouse's set if you haven't already. Even if you have, go look again. Mouse is Countessa's lil sister, and she is absolutely smashing it with her debut set. Seriously. 1700 hearts in a month and it's currently the 16th most loved hopeful set of all time according to the photos tab. I really hope she goes pink from this, or it at least sets her up to hit it for six on the next one (that's a cricket home run for all you seppos).
That shot won the sg_australia monthly profile pic competition a little while ago. It's pretty rad.
And in other exciting news, @unicorn's debut set comes out tomorrow. If you haven't already, you should organise a ticker-tape parade in your town to mark the occasion. This set has been about five years coming (she's been wanting to shoot since she was a brand new member back in the day), and I know two or three oldskool members (who shall remain nameless) who've reappeared on the site just to see Unicorn's debut finally happening!
Last weekend we had Australia's biggest ever shootfest in Melbourne. Between @lizziesky and I, we shot 16 sets over two days. It was exhausting and incredibly fun. But that is for another blog, which I'll try to do over the weekend. @countessa has been editing like a machine and already has 6 sets edited. There were some serious superstars in the lineup, and some newbies who I hope will soon be superstars. Anyway, I'll let you know all about Melbourne soon.
