This is getting to be a big week for me in MR!
@aubreyx and @midna_'s sets went up earlier this week, followed quickly by @feefee and then @peggysue.
Here's a few previews:
@feefee in Komorebi
This was shot out in the middle of the bush in Sydney....about a half hours walk each way. We'd planned to shoot on a boardwalk out over a lake, but the lake was so dense with reeds that it just didn't look good. But then we found this beautiful glade with this gorgeous light filtering down through the canopy of melaleucas and leptospermums. It was very much a team effort getting this lighting to work. Feefee modelled beautifully, @countessa held reflectors, and @midna_ and Mr. Midna shielded the glare with a big white sheet. What a team. Really happy with the resulting set, I think it's some of the best photography I've done.
aaaand @peggysue in Reckless
This was shot at the Sydney shootfest last year. We'd shot a few sets in various parts of the funky hotel room we'd rented for it, and then someone realised there was a fire escape opposite our room that led onto the roof next door. It wasn't long before @puffin was shooting one of the new recruits out on the roof while I shot @peggysue on the fire escape. Once we started playing around with the ladder onto the roof, it started to be a bit acrobatic and Workplace Health and Safety went out the window. Haha. If you look back through my blogs you can see a pic of Peggysue halfway up the ladder and me near the top holding on with my toes while I shot.
In other very exciting news, I spent the weekend shooting some new sets....here are some preview pics (even though I said in the last blog that I'd only post them if someone guessed who it was going to be). Well....maybe some of you will recognise her.
@unicorn__ in a yet to be named set:
The following day, I shot @countessa in a secret garden we found near Parliament House. As Countessa says in her blog, this is the most public place we've shot, and one that is theoretically patrolled by security guards and the Australian Federal Police. In practice we shot uninterrupted for at least an hour (an older couple wandered through the garden at one point, but they barely noticed us). The set has turned out beautifully and I can't wait for it to go into MR.
