So I was chatting with one of my fifth-grade students yesterday, and asked him if folks his age call each other dude still....like my lot did at that stage or thereabouts.
He said 'nah, mate, we call each other mate.'
It's the most standout case I've seen of Australian slang replacing American slang, instead of the other way round.
I, for one, support it. Perhaps the cultural cringe will die out with the next generation.

I'd rather do Wednesday just because I know I'll have some free time. I may be able to wangle some time on the weekend but frankly September is getting manic and time will get scarcer and scarcer.
