Wow, it has been a while since I have blogged. I suppose because I barely do anything during the winter except read and try to stay warm. It would have been nice if I had a nice warm human body to cuddle with, but I guess my pup will have to do this winter. Sorry if this blog is tangent-esque, but a lot has happened since I have last blogged.
First Christmas was amazingly wonderful, our three bedroom house was packed, since my whole family stayed here. My brother and I even had to sleep in my room, and he snores. I am actually amazed that amidst the slumbering sound of what can only be described as the sawing of logs I got any sleep at all. But I did!
My sister informed the family that she is with child and I am terribly excited for her and her husband. I think I will make a good uncle, and her a better mother.
Second I am in the winter semester now, and taking a honours course in philosophy of mind. I am also taking a sociology course in health and illness. I got into a bit of a tiff on what exactly one can learn from the Tuskegee Syphilis study. One girl compared the study to something akin to what the Nazis did in medical experiments on the Jews. While I can acknowledge some similarities, juxtapositions on apparent bads with Nazis actions kind of irks me. It is just over done lately. Here is a few examples, Christians are like the Nazis in such and such a way. Oh but did you know the atheists are also like the Nazis in such and such a way. And any form of discrimination you better believe is just like the Nazis. And if you are against abortion you are just like a Nazi. But if your for an abortion your just like a Nazi. I will leave my annoyance at that, but you get the picture.
Third, I am watching this show 17 kids and counting, and this dude who is getting married still gets chaperoned on his dates so that no hanky panky goes down. In addition he has never kissed her! NEVER KISSED HER! This is kind of ridiculous, I can get why you might withdraw from sex (although this sometimes puzzles me as well, but I can accept that some people might have different attitudes towards sex and I can kind of get that), but no kissing, petting, or any intimacy whatsoever before marriage is kind of disturbing.
I guess that is it for now, I will post more tomorrow. I really have to keep this blog updated.
Here's some music if you need a little pick me up.
