I saw Mates of State last night... one of the bands that opened for them, Smoosh, was a duo consisting of a boy and a girl. Now when I say "boy" and "girl" I mean kids who were scarcely 1/3 my age. Seriously, an 11 year old girl and a 9 year old boy playing happy minimalist keyboard music may sounds gimmicky, and it is, but man are those two going to be the coolest damn kids in high school! (provided they don't drop out to give themselves up full-time to raging heroin habits).
