Last Friday was awesome. I wanted to see Explosions in the Sky at Cafe du Nord here in SF, but neglected to purchase tickets online and had to hope I could buy them at the door. After driving around for almost a WHOLE FUCKING HOUR trying to find parking, I arrived to find a line of 500 or so people, most of whom were waiting to buy one of the 75 remaining tickets. Although it seemed futile, I waited in line, figuring that since I had at least come this far, it couldn't hurt. When it was announced that it was sold out, everyone left. Disheartened, I began to sulk away when some random kid asked me if I needed a ticket. Apparently one of the people in his party of 13 (!) couldn't make it. Why he asked me, I have no idea, but I said "hell YES!", and five minutes later I was inside! Of course it was an awesome show, and the guitarist was absolutely insane, rivalling Omar and Cedric from ATDI/Mars Volta for intensity. And I owe it all to some random guy named Jeremiah. Fitting that he has a biblical name, because he was my savior for the night!
I've been sick for the past few days. It's kinda nice to be able to come home from work, curl up in bed, read and play video games until 10 or so and then sleep for 10 hours and not feel guilty about not getting anything accomplished. It almost makes me feel like a kid again.
Hopefully I'll feel better by tomorrow. My friend and I are supposed to see Metric tommorow night!
I've decided that this year, I going to forgo dressing up as a character for Halloween. Instead I will go as an idea. So, if all goes well, I'm gonna be "innuendo".
