My mom has been having some health problems lately, and a few weeks ago went in to the doctor's to get tested for varous illnesses. The results came back today, and show that she has lymphoma. 
Fortunately, it's the B type lymphoma, which is highly treatable as well as potentially curable, but it still sucks... Fortunately, she works in a doctor's office and is pretty knowledgable in medicine and was able to put some of my worries at ease. She'll be going in to get chemotherapy several times over the next six months. In trying to keep my spirits up, I said that maybe I'd shave my head too so that she felt better.
Ugh, I hate cancer in all its forms...
