So a few days ago my car started acting up. Actually, "acting up" is the exact opposite of what happened... it just wouldn't start. Definitely not something that I wanted to deal with a week before I would be driving 12 hours to get to Coachella. I found that occasionally if I vigorously twisted the key, I could get the car started. But the problem grew worse, and after a couple days of dealing with this I took it to have it repaired. The shop said it'll be back tomorrow (some sort of transmission problem), but it'll cost me almost $400
Of course, that was money I needed to pay for deposit on a new apartment, or for cds and merch (and food, I suppose) at Coachella, or a new silkscreening kit, or anything but this. So I'm just hoping that indeed the problem will be recitified by tomorrow. Then maybe karma will dictate that I win the lottery (although that would require me to actually play the lottery) or find a $400 bill (or, perhaps more feasibly, four $100 bills), or maybe sell a piece of art (well... it's possible, I suppose). But in the words of Susie Derkins in Calvin and Hobbes, "as long as I'm dreaming, I'd like a pony".
Edited to say: If you are on your computer from 6-8 Western time (9-11 easter, etc) on Wednesday, listen to my radio show! It's full of goodness!
