Have you ever had the feeling that you missed out on something as a child? That's how I felt last week when my friend told me that The Princess Bride, my favorite movie as a kid (and still one of my favorites now) was based on a book. Why the hell was I not informed of this when I was younger? I mean, I watched the movie every time I was sick from school, and I read all the time. The love of those two things coming together would have been orgasmic for my young mind. Needless to say, I bought the novel this week and am almost finished, and am quite surprised/impressed at how well the movie followed the book. I'll be sitting in class or work reasding and gigging and people may look at me as if I'm insane but I'm be all but oblivious because I'm reliving my childhood (albeit in a way I wasn't able to live it originally!)

One of my teachers read that book to us in class when I was little. I guess I just took it for granted while I was "over analyzing" how pointless I thought having to go to school was.
