So, when i was in high school i dated this kid ryan for a hot minute. It was totally not a big deal, we were more like friends that made out and called each other bf/gf for a few weeks. I did really like him though. Then my best friend at the time said a lot of bullshit and talked me into breaking up with him. Now they're engaged. Whatev.
The point is, we never had a falling out. We broke up, were still friends and then lost contact. When i moved back out to california to work at SGHQ, one of the first things i was asked to do was to make a list of some skate shops in the area so we could talk to them about carrying our merch. So of course i though "oh, i should get ahold of ryan! He would totally be able to hook me up with some contacts in a few shops." So i googled him and found his email and sent him a quick "hey, how are you... been a long time... need a favor" email. He responded with "please don't ever contact me again." I was so surprised. I mean, i wasn't hurt, i found it really funny, but still - i was surprised. There was some speculation between mutual friends that it had been the fiance that wrote that response, not him. Either way, i don't care. I found it amusing. So that was almost three years ago(?).
Fast forward to this past friday:
I'm walking down the sidewalk, outside my apartment, to go to my car. (i live in hollywood, we only have street parking) This guy is walking towards me. For about five minutes i keep looking at him because something seemed familiar and i was trying to figure out why. Then as he gets closer i realize hes looking at me as well. Long story short, it was my ryan. Right outside my apt. We walked right past each other in silence, but it was obvious that he recognized me. So strange. I don't get why we are not on friendly terms! Its not like we had a real relationship with broken hearts and drama. We were nerdy virgins, how is he too cool for me now?! People are so weird.
PS: Thanks for all the great weight gaining tips! Keep 'em coming!!

I didn't even really talk to her that much, and over the years (she lived far away at this point) we talked less and less. Why can't it just fizzle out?
Guys and girls are weird
