but we know something they do not: that art lives from vision; the burning kind that makes
an idea seem larger than life. at least larger than it is. these are things important.
not because the piece will be so good -- that depends on other things -- and not because it will be important for you or me, but for the _world_! and it has something to do with delusion (of course!) and something to do with Reality the craft we've learned, patience, hard work and so on, but mostly in the end it is the vision. tho without the other it is worthless. nothing but an exercise. a trick effect. a pretty image. so listen to me because i won't tell you this again; i want to work with you. we are going to do some amazing things together. art of media. no of intermedia. no of anti-media. media is not the message its the distraction.
i never sent her this. of course. fear? sure, but also, i mean, i ask her everytime i have a project. (after being rejected 6 times the fear is more that she says yes) she answers me, usually, though not always, and indifferently as great lords would speak. like the door keeper in kafka's castle parable:
"it is possible, but not at the moment".
though of course, like kafka, you have to wonder...
