Hopefully by Friday we will know if we can buy THIS HOUSE! It's all so exciting!!!
Here's the scoop:
Yesterday we talked to 5/3 Bank about a home loan it was, by far, the best one yet! So we are going with them. The best thing about that is, through their program, no PMI! Yay! Anyway, they reccomended that I have one month worth of house payment in my savings account. So, today I went to my parents house to borrow $1000 (*). And well, they gave it to us, to keep! Double yay! They said, "consider it an early wedding present".
Tomorrow, we have a meeting with our buying agent and we write up the offer we are going to present to the seller. We are offering $120,000 and the seller has to pay the $2500+ closing costs! I really hope they take this bid!! We are giving them 24 hours to accept, reject or counter offer, which would put us around 5pm on Friday. So, if they accept, which I REALLY hope they do, by the end of this week, I'll be one step closer to owning this home!!!!
Housewarming party details forthcoming.
Yay!!!! Wish us luck everyone!!!!!!
(*) See, my parents have virtually no money, but this is a "right time, right place" kinda deal. My grandma has been fighting cancer for a while and they just discovered a new tumor. They pretty much can't do anything about it. She's too old and already had too much chemotherapy. It's a slow growing tumor, but she probably doesn't have long to live. So, she is giving all her kids (my dad included) $10,000 now and $10,000 after the first of the year. Ten grand is the maximum amount of money you can give someone in a year without them paying taxes on it. And she wants to take care of it before she dies so everyone won't have to fuck with it when it comes to will time. So yea, my parents, at theis moment have $10,000 in an account. And by a stroke of luck and their extreme generousity, they gave a grand to me! I have the best family ever. Seriously!!!
