Okay Girls - Decision time!! Help me out!!
Just yesterday I got the following email -
Dear Jonathan,
We have considered your application to enter the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology PhD program starting first semester 2005, and are pleased to conditionally offer you a place in our program.
The offer is conditional on you successfully completing the requirements of your degree, and providing a copy of your final academic transcript and graduation certificates as soon as you are able. As requested, Prof. John de Jersey has been allocated as supervisor of your research project. The academic year starts on Monday, 7th February, 2005. You will need to contact your supervisor to confirm that you are accepting or declining the offer and that you can start on this date. Further details on workshops and training sessions will be forwarded to your supervisor before you begin.
But I was also talking to my course co-ordinator yesterday about doing an intership over the break, and he told me that he has received more people trying to hire graduates from our course than there is people graduating. So I am pretty much guaranteed a job straight up. And they are well paid jobs as well, but they're more focused on commercial development than actual research which is what I really want to do.
BUT if I accept the offer thats another 3 years of poverty & living with my parents & half hour train rides to uni. I need advice!!! The project is really cool though - the protein components of australian snake venoms. I know it would be far better in the long term to do this but.... Ahh help me!!! I don't know what to do!!
