You know, physicists have recently discovered ways a teleporting properties of elementary particles (i.e. bosons and leptons) by means of quantum entanglement. I suppose that someday, someone will actually figure out how to transport composite systems--maybe humans--instanteously through the fabric of space and time.
It once occured to me while daydreaming in a physics class that if teleportation ever became a reality, there would be a few problems associated with the whole process. For instance, let's say you could teleport a bowling ball from the top of a building to the sidewalk below? Clearly, there would be a great difference in the potential energy of these two elevations. If you believe in the first law thermodynamics, then you believe that energy is neither created nor destroyed. So, where would the energy of the bowling ball go? I suppose it would be converted into thermal energy, in which case the ball would be extremely hot when it suddenly materialized below.
Let's not even think about the potential energy differences between something near the center of the galaxy and something near its outer rim... not to mention the dialations of space and time! Oh what the fuck, go ahead and think about it. Let me know what you think.

LOL.. I know.. I've come back and expected to see my little rant blasted by E, but alas.. he's not around. Where are you, E?

I just hope he's off doing that 'wife of Entropy' thang.
