Spring is great, but very windy here in Crestone. Also, it snowed for two days last week, but today it was 70 again. I've been working tons, at the health food store in town, caretaking for an elderly gentleman, and working construction with my boyfriend. Some combo of the weather and work gave me a pretty good sinus infection last week, which I'm finally starting to get over.
In about one month I leave for South Dakota for two months. I'm going as support to Sundance (a Native American ceremony), because my man is a Sundancer. We're going up early this year so he can go up on the hill for his 4-day vision quest before Sundance. He's asked me to keep his fire which is a big deal and a real honor. I can't wait to go up there, live in a tent for two months, and be immersed in ceremony. We're also planning on looking for land on the way up there in northern Wyoming, Montana, and S. Dakota. Our dream is to have an intentional, sustainable community where we can make our living on the land. I've been putting a lot of intention into manifesting this dream, and I believe that we can make it happen.
I thought I was going to come up to Denver for a few days before I leave, but I just have so much work and then I'm not going to be making any money for 2 months, so I just can't afford to come up there right now. Also, I don't think I'll be able to keep my day job when I get back because my boss who had okayed my time off quit and my new boss doesn't want me to go for that long. I'll have plenty of free-lance work this summer, but I'm still trying to figure out how I'll survive next winter without a steady job. All things work out in the end...
