I think I trained my cat. By accident, of course, and I trained him to have bad habits.
Whenever I am home, and in my room, he eats my plants. I love my plants, and mostly they are unharmed and healthy. But when I am here, the cat is playing in the plants. I then yell at him, grab him and hold him on my lap so that he cant cause damage. Therefore, I trained him that the only time I will pay attention to him is when he is misbehaving and eating the plants.
Being a 'bad cat' equals much attention and lap-sitting.
Cats are smart.
People are smart too, and I have a bad feeling that I have trained my friends this way, or that I am trained in this manner - the same as my cat. Certain people only pay attention to me when there is drama. Also, I only pay attention to certain other people when they are doing mean or hurtful things. Why does attention need to be based off of bad habits?
We are no better than cats. Suck.
