Happy Fuckin' New Year
Well, a new hear has started and I have a lot of work to do this year. I will be outlining my goals for this year later, for now heres some general information. Its been three months now and my car is still not ready and I am still piloting the Titanic (for those not in the know, the Titanic is the loaner vehicle Ive been given while my car is being finished; a gigantic white Ford work van thats a total bitch to drive). Ive had my X-Box for about three weeks and I can already see its going to be a bad thing for me; Im on it, constantly. And I still havent figured out how to stream media from my computer yet. Ive followed all the directions on xbox.com about three times and so far no luck. I may have to upgrade to Windows Vista to get it to work.
And now to move past the minutia and to the core of this installment; the vast amount of shit I have to get done this year. This year Ill be finishing everything I started last year but was unable to finish due to my car blowing up every other month and other unforeseen crap. The list, in no particular order is:
1. Get my airbrush/body art business up and running - I probably have about $800-$800 worth of equipment to get, this is including a good looking workstation and promotional material. I could probably spend about $200 and have enough to get going but if Im doing this, Im doing it right i.e. actually taking pride in how professional I look to people. I guess I had better break out the pencil and paper and design something.
2. Start performing magic again Ive been looking to do this for a couple of years now but Ive been up against one large road block; Im not entirely sure how to get better. Well I got a bunch of magic videos from my friend Curtis and one had a magician that talked about being a part-time professional magician and laid out a pretty good plan on how to improve. I sent him an email last month and one thing led to another and I am now test piloting his new book on becoming a part time professional magician.
3. Get my ventriloquist dummy, Skip, finished and an act for the Renaissance Festival put together Poor Skip has been floating in an unfinished limbo for over a year now. Every time I think Ive got the mechanics figured out, I find something wrong with the design and I have to rethink. Ive got his mouth mechanics down fine; Im just working on his eye mechanics. I have my script for the Renaissance Festival about half done and with any luck I can have things ready for the auditions this year. Of course this requires costuming as well as a working dummy and a script. I guess its time to break out the sewing machine. Yes, I sew, wanna make something of it?
4. Finely get a Digital SLR camera and get some photography done My desire for a new camera is two fold, both for getting in to photography as well as getting pics done for my various business enterprises. But I have to admit, Im mostly interested in the artistic side.

Nothing wrong with a man who knows how to sew. I do a little repair work on my clothes from time to time, but that's about the extent of my skill. I can do patch jobs but can't create anything. My middle school Home Ec teacher would be so disappointed.
