well...
I am not feeling too great this weekend. I came down with one of the nasty nasty drippy nose colds on thursday and the bitch won't go away no matter how much whisky and second hand smoke I feed her...
wait a minute... I have been eating chicken soup as well, drinking tea and going to bed early....everything in moderation
I got to see my girls today- talk performance at gigi's cafe- go to the library, return that Speak Spanish disk I have had for over a year, and pick up a 4-disk Wagner Opera for my scene design class- is anyone familiar with the story of Parsifal? It's all about the grail myths and I am trying to figure out something appealing about them that would interest a modern audience...
I also got to see Elinor and chill
I went to the Quest, the sucky, ugly Quest- to see the Donnas and I didn't think they were very good, but yes, the guitar player is hot.
The von bondies were much worse, but that's not saying a lot. I ran into an old roommate. We haven't spoken in years. I figured I would go say hi, since it was the second time I noticed her in the same room as me that night- I had spotted her earlier at Luce, not sure if she saw me- but I pretended that I never saw her - since I really didn't want to talk to her- but then I saw her again at the sucky Quest- (what are the chances?) and we talked- but then lost eachother when the music started.
I'm okay with that.
Afterwards, it was the Fine Line for some entertainment by Big Sand- which I liked, in principle- the singer sortof reminded me of a cooler, less egotistical, but similarly sassy Billy Bob Thornton.... but some may disagree... anyway, he was having some technical problems that I wish he would have just taken the time to fix... and someone has to do something about the volume levels in-between sets at these shows, because I am practically hoarse from screaming at people just to have a conversation....
it's so wierd- it's like we all go together to clubs-
we can be all alone together listening to music- since it's nearly impossible to pleasantly chat.
but I'm a littel crabby... it's the cold medicine among other things like early winter angst buildup- it's that sun I miss...
But the music was good and warmly southern in an Arizona fashion- we slow-danced a little- and the next band was nice- the Handsome family -for the most part, it was a lot of Liberal Cowboys and Cowgirls on stage- and I like that--- and I would have liked to stay longer, but my bod was telling me to get out of there...
until next time
Peace out-
bed calls
sleep in late

Ehhh I have a very similar cold. It sucks. I love the Donna's disappointing to hear they were not good live. How much do you think the venue was to blame? Hope to see the two of you at breakfast or maybe karaoke sometime.

Why do I still smell your feet? Oh wait, it's just the litter box.
